PLEASE READ FAQS AND INFO PRIOR TO BOOKING:
First of all, I cannot wait to work with you to design the perfect tattoo! Thank you for choosing me as your artist! If are interested in booking an appointment with me, I encourage you to browse the following FAQ’s this will answer any question you may have prior to booking.
FAQ’s
• Where are you located?
I am located in the city of Ventura county (California). I work at a licensed shop by the name of Bone Deep Tattoos, owned by the very own Jared Starbard with over 15 years of experience in tattooing. I tattoo by appointment only. New booking for Ventura county is open to regular clients and occasionally new clients if the project is of interest.
• How do I book an appointment with you?
I encourage people to follow my Instagram @thegigilyn for the latest updates on cancellations and notifications on when I’ll be back to work. I only tattoo ideas that I feel within my ability/interest (you will here from me if I feel your tattoo concept is out of my creative ability). I require full artistic freedom when designing custom work. Please take a look at my tattoo portfolio to get an idea of the style of work I do (fine-line floral realism). Please be prepared to pay a $50 deposit to book an appointment. Appointments are not guaranteed without a deposit and will not be held without it.

•What are your hours?
I work freelance with very limited spots as being a mother to our daughter is my first priority!
My hours are appointment based. I take about 3 appointments per week currently. My hours are set up this way to ensure my clients tattoos get the desired attention they need. I do not rush or squeeze in permanence. Thank you for respecting my hours :)
• Can I see the design before my appointment?
I understand that you want to be involved in every step of the process in designing your tattoo, and that you may want to see a full drawing or sketch before your appointment for approval. However, designs will NOT be ready to view/make changes to until the day of your appointment. I will present a stencil draft at the time of your appointment in person to make any changes and adjust to your comfort and dreams🤍 I can’t stress enough how incredibly important it is to make the adjustments to your design together in person. Things can get misconstrued through faceless messaging, and communication is key to desired permanence. I have been doing this process for 6 years and my regular clients feel the most comfortable doing things this way. I will not bend these rules when this works for the majority. If this makes you uncomfortable, we may not be a match and that is okay. Please review my portfolio prior to booking your appointment, trust in your artist is very important.
• Can I book an appointment for someone else?
NO you cannot book an appointment for someone else. A client scheduling an appointment with me via message needs to be able to CONSENT to all terms and conditions. You, yourself need to be able to have an in depth conversation via text about what is going permanently on your body. No one else can do that for you. No one can, or will make you get a tattoo you do not want under my care.
• What if I don’t hear back from you?
Most questions can be found here on my website, but if your question requires specific assistance, please send me a text message at (805)666-0170 beginning with “tattoo inquiry help” to my work phone. (I do not answer DMs through Instagram nor emails). Please feel free to include a long list of details! I really appreciate long and detailed questions so I can be of assistance sooner. Short texts ex: “hey.” With missing subjects will not get responses, this is in an effort to get you the answers you need efficiently! I prefer to keep all inquiries organized through one stream of communication.
Please understand that it may take up a couple days to receive a response, I only respond to requests within my work hours, and most of my days are allocated to actual tattoo application. If it’s been longer please feel free to reach out, and send a follow up message with your question. I want to assist as many people as I humanly can :).
• What are your rates?
My rate is $200.00 USD per hour. Most of my clients don’t sit for longer than a 2/3 hour period. If you are looking to book a half day rate (4/5 hours) I charge a flat $800.00 fee. My new minimum is $200.
• Can you complete two tattoos on one session? A friend and I?
As long as the two tattoos you are looking to get done are both under palm size, yes I can! You may book one “medium” appointment for both tattoos to be completed. Only one $50 deposit is required. the appointment will only be booked under one persons name, and the other person will be included in the appointment notes located in the email confirmation of the appointment holders name. (If you book one session expecting both parties to get larger scale work done, your appointment will be terminated. Be considerate with timing) ❤️
• Do you tattoo larger than palm size? Sleeves?
The answer to this in short right now is no. I am more known for my fine line smaller tattoos and on occasion if I feel something is in my artistic skill level, I will take it on. I do not tattoo sleeves. My husband is in the military, and seeing that we move every 2/4 years, I do not want to leave any of my clients with any unfinished projects.❤️ I understand with this, that I may not be the artist for you, and that’s okay! I’m just looking out for your future planning.
• What tattoos services do you not offer?
• inner finger tattoos
• side of hand tattoos
• inner lip tattoos
• face/head tattoos
• palm tattoos
• bottom of the foot tattoos, (+side of foot tattoos)
My personal policy is that the tattoos I create for you are life time guarantee, and that is why my price point is set where it is. Most of the time these locations for tattoos do not last more than 6 months, and take multiple sessions with electric tattooing to achieve lifetime permanence. Since I can’t guarantee these locations will be permanent even after multiple electric tattooing sessions, I can not ethically offer these services. ❤️
• Can I bring a guest with me to my appointment?
Yes, you may bring ONE guest. If you are getting tattooed with a friend/family member/etc NO additional guests will be permitted. It is illegal in California to get a tattoo under the age of 18, even with parent consent. However, people under the age of 18 are welcome in the shop for moral support and to discuss tattoos for their legal future :)
• Can I get your artwork tattooed by someone else?
No. Please do not use any of my designs without permission.
• Can you fix a tattoo by another artist? Coverups?
I DO NOT perform coverup tattoos. No exceptions. Coverups often entail a level of expectation I cannot uphold when working on older work. I am primarily focused on creating new art for my clients.
• Specified circumstances?
I have tattooed people of all walks of life. Communication is key to your specified conditions. If you have any skin conditions I can absolutely tattoo you! :) Make sure to communicate your health condition and the risks involved for your desired tattoo in your inquiry text. You may be subjected to a doctors medical clearance if your condition falls under liability. Your safety as my client is my number one priority.
• How much is your deposit and what are your deposit policies?
A NON-REFUNDABLE deposit of $50 is required to book an appointment. Deposits can be submitted via PayPal only. Payment links are automatically redirected upon booking for your convenience. The deposit goes toward the final cost of your tattoo. Your final balance must be paid in cash only at the time of your appointment. Deposits are NOT transferable. To reschedule your appointment you must cancel your original appointment and rebook via text. By booking an appointment, you are holding a space of my time and making it unavailable to someone else in the general public; therefore, failure to make that time slot under any circumstance will result in forfeiture of your deposit. Lots of clients are eager to make appointments. Last minute cancellations and no shows can be difficult to fill and this at least makes it so I make a wage for the day. (I’m sorry if this seems harsh, I may not be the artist for you with these boundaries and that is okay, but too many people have ruined the honors system fun for everyone) Your deposit will be revoked if you:
•You do not show up to your appointment.
•You cancel your appointment.
•Reschedule your appointment more than once.
•You arrive more than 20 minutes late to your appointment.
• You arrive to your appointment without government-issued identification.
•You change your design from what was previously discussed. If the design you are looking for no longer fits the allocated time upon booking, the artist can refuse the new design.
•The tattoo design you are looking to get done is offensive or disrespectful.
*Upon paying a deposit I agree to all policies, I understand my artist reserves the right to refuse service, as a service provider. I am aware my artist is a human being and will be treated as such, not limited to a service label themselves. I acknowledge that I will communicate my tattoo design idea to the artist to my satisfaction, and have reviewed the artist’s prior works to decide that the artist can implement my idea to my satisfaction. I understand that creating a tattoo design based on a client’s concept is subjective, and that variations may exist between my concept and the finished design. If the finished design is not to my liking, minor changes can be made at the artist’s discretion. However, I understand that substantial changes to the design or the request of an entirely new drawing or draft will require a new deposit, and the original deposit will be forfeited as payment for the artist’ time.
